Prayer, September 11th (Prints)

Watching the horror unfold on TV that fateful morning, my strongest impulse was to fall on my knees and pray. As an artist how do you even begin to depict an event of such epic proportions? How do you not? I chose to paint one lone woman lying in a pose of utter surrender, praying. She could be one of the thousands in the Twin Towers at the moment when all hope vanished. Perhaps she is a mother or wife watching the news. She could be any one of us. This image is from my Prayer Series.
